Free outreaches, then real follow-up

Outreach shouldn’t end when the team leaves.

We’re a nonprofit public health initiative expanding healthcare access in underserved Nigerian communities by providing medical outreach, continued follow-up, and advocacy for systemic change.

At most free outreaches, care ends the same evening.

Of every 10 people screened, only 1 or 2 are still in care a few weeks later. So we do it differently.

  1. Volunteer preparing a blood glucose test at an outreach

    1. On the day

    We show up

Blood pressure, blood sugar and malaria checks, time with a doctor, and free medicine. Under a canopy, in the middle of the community.

  2. Volunteer taking patient records at a market outreach

    2. Before we leave

    We make a plan

Everyone leaves with a follow-up plan. Their details are saved on TAZ AI, even when there’s no network at the site.

  3. Free medical consultation at an outreach

    3. Weeks later

    We check in

Reminders by SMS in their own language, calls from volunteers, and referrals we follow until care actually happens.

After the outreach, I thought that was the end. Then an SMS came in Yoruba asking about my BP. Somebody still remembered me.
